Is A Condo Right For You

The first time you buy a home, it can seem as though there are so many choices that there are almost too many. The larger the city you live in, the more choices there seem to be. Toronto is a good example; first time homebuyers will have a large selection in front of them. They may have to look at dozens of Etobicoke houses, Cabbagetown single-family dwellings, and King Street lofts before even coming up with a short list for second looks.

One way to make your choices simpler, and take up a lot less time both for you and for your realtor, is to decide what type of home you prefer before you start the search to buy. The first place to start, of course, is with your preferred location; after all, it is no good looking at Mississauga homes for sale if you plan on working in Peterborough, no matter how good the deals may be!

Another important decision which can help you with your shortlist is deciding what type of home you want to buy. There are a few different categories to choose from, as we mentioned in the first paragraph. The key is matching the advantages of each with the lifestyle you are looking for. It could be that Scarborough condos are exactly the type of real estate to suit your needs, but how do you come to that decision?

Well, first of all, you want to take a look at your family size both right now and in the next two years or so. For single people or couples with no kids, a condo will probably be the ideal choice. You won't be paying for a lot of extra space and rooms that you won't be using, and you will still have enough room to fit all your own belongings.

Even if you are in a family situation where you have one child (maybe even two), condos might still be a better choice than stand alone Oshawa homes. Typically, condos are more affordable than single-family dwellings no matter where you live, so your choice may be largely determined by budget. It's a decision that will have to be made once you decide what you can realistically afford within your family budget.

Finally, you might want to consider the extra convenience that condo living has to offer. The reason Leslieville homes have gone up in popularity over the last decade is not because of location, but rather because of price. Many people who work in the downtown Toronto area can't afford to live near to their work, because of high real estate prices. Living in a condominium in the downtown area, on the other hand, affords an awful lot of convenience when it comes to the job commute and entertainment options as well. If you prefer a home offering close proximity to all that the city has to offer, a condo might be the right choice for you.
