Space VS Amenities

There are a lot of things to consider when buying a condo. Location and price are usually the first priorities, but two areas of importance that should be considered are the amount of space the condo offers and the amenities the building provides. These two options may be considered a deal breaker for potential buyers. What if you are presented with an amazing, spacious piece of Toronto Annex real estate but the building doesn't have laundry facilities, parking, or a gym? Or vice versa - What if the amenities are all there, but the space isn't? What is really more important? This article will decipher the benefits of both space and amenities to try and help buyers decide which option is the best for them.

Let's start with space. You don't need scientific research and experimental development to know what the great benefits of having a lot of space are. If you are presented with a condo that has high ceilings, large windows, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large kitchen and living area, it's hard to find a reason not to snatch it up immediately. Having a lot of space is great if you have or plan to have to children. There will be tons of room for them to run around in, lots of places to clean those cloth diapers, and the opportunity for them to have their own rooms. If you do not have children, having that extra space allows you to be a fantastic hostess. There will be lots of space to throw dinner parties or invite your co-workers over for cocktails. Plus, you will always have a room for those out of town guests or for friends who need to spend the night after one too many drinks. Extra space also allows you to have rooms like an office, a den or even an entertainment room. The options are endless and you can always renovate and redecorate as the years go on and your needs change.

But maybe instead of buying that home for sale, North Toronto may have caught your eye with its many condos and their great amenities. Some buildings have great things to offer that are hard to pass up. If you find a building with underground parking, a gym, a game room, a pool, or even a full home-theatre system, then consider yourself lucky. These things are hard to come by in many buildings and can make life easier and a lot more comfortable. If you are looking at Rosedale and North Toronto real estate, Vancouver real estate, or anywhere else across the nation, these amenities will definitely be a high selling point.

So, if you are stumped with presented with the option of space versus amenities, it's best to consider your long time goals. If kids are in the future, then maybe you should opt for the condo with more space. Although the pool and gym are tempting, maybe the space will provide more for your future! But, if you live in a somewhat secluded area because of a job then maybe it's best to consider the building with better amenities to make your life easier.
